Tentang pekerjaan

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer Intern to join our remote team.

We are a US-based software company developing our own applications as well as custom software for clients. One of our main areas is software for medical organizations, along with other web and business applications.

This internship is a good fit for someone who already understands the basics of UI/UX design and wants to get faster at designing real product interfaces, working with developers, and turning requirements into usable screens.

You will not be expected to design every interface from scratch. In most of our projects, we work with an existing design system and component library. Your job is to understand the requirement, choose the right components, build the screen quickly, present it to the team, receive feedback, and improve it.

For many of our interfaces, we currently use existing components and icon libraries.

What you will work on

You will design and improve interfaces for real web applications and internal products.

Typical tasks include creating application screens, dialogs, forms, dashboards, tables, settings pages and user flows; preparing responsive layouts; improving existing interfaces; and building new screens from existing UI components.

You will work closely with developers team, receive feedback, and iterate on your designs.

You may also occasionally work on website pages, landing pages and other visual materials.

A large part of the work is about being able to turn an idea or requirement into a clear interface quickly, rather than spending a long time designing every element from zero.

What we are looking for

You should have a basic understanding of UI/UX principles and be comfortable working in Figma, Penpot, or a similar design tool.

We are especially interested in someone who:

can quickly create clean interfaces using existing components and design systems;

understands spacing, typography, hierarchy, forms, navigation and responsive design;

has good visual taste and attention to detail;

can take feedback and quickly prepare another version;

is comfortable studying existing products and finding good interface solutions;

can work independently and ask questions when requirements are unclear;

has at least basic English communication skills.

Experience with Material Design / Material Design 3 is a plus.

If you enjoy drawing, illustration, icons, or creating visual concepts from scratch, that is also a big plus, although it is not required for most day-to-day tasks.

Tools

We currently work with Figma and are actively testing Penpot as part of our design workflow.

You do not need previous Penpot experience if you already know Figma and are comfortable learning a similar tool.

Schedule

The schedule is flexible, and you can organize most of your working time independently.

However, we have a short daily team meeting at approximately 8:00 AM New York time, which is currently around 8:00 PM WITA / Makassar Time in Bali and may shift to around 9:00 PM WITA when US daylight saving time changes.

Attendance at the daily meeting is required.

We would also like you to be reasonably available for questions and communication during the first half of the working day in New York, although you do not need to follow a strict US schedule.

What you will get

You will work on real software products, not artificial training projects.

You will see how your designs are implemented by developers and learn how a product interface evolves from an initial idea to the final application.

You will receive direct feedback from the product and development team and have the opportunity to improve your UI/UX skills through practical work.

This is a remote position with an international team, and we are looking for someone proactive who wants to learn, improve quickly, and grow with the team.

Next steps

If this sounds like a good fit, please apply through SEEK and include a portfolio or examples of your work if available.

If your application looks like a good match, we will invite you to complete a small practical UI/UX test task.

The task is designed to show us how you work with an existing visual style and components and how quickly you can turn requirements into a usable interface.

We care more about your thinking, speed, consistency and ability to work with existing UI patterns than about creating an overly polished artistic concept.
