About Fullridge
Fullridge Advisors is a boutique controllership and advisory firm based in Woodland Park, NJ. We serve as the outsourced finance function for growth-stage e-commerce brands and SMBs - fractional CFO, controllership, FP&A, supply chain finance, and quality-of-earnings work for both operators and acquirers. Our clients range from DTC consumer brands and manufacturers to infrastructure and services companies. We're hiring a full-time Accounting Manager to own client delivery and lead our accounting team.
The role
You will be the day-to-day controller for a book of 6–10 clients, accountable for accurate, on-time monthly closes and financials that leadership can actually make decisions from. You'll direct our staff accountants on transactional work while you own reconciliations review, technical accounting, reporting, and the client relationship at the controller level. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy seat — you'll be trusted to run your portfolio and expected to raise your hand early when something is off.
What you'll do
- Own the monthly close for a multi-client portfolio: review reconciliations, post accruals and adjusting entries, and deliver GAAP-basis financial packages by deadline
- Manage and review the work of staff accountants handling AP, AR, bank feeds, and payroll entries
- Handle e-commerce-specific accounting: Shopify/Amazon revenue recognition, payment processor reconciliation, sales tax, inventory and landed cost (COGS, freight, duties, 3PL fees)
- Build and maintain client-facing reporting: monthly financial packages, KPI dashboards, cash forecasts, and budget-vs-actual variance analysis
- Support quality-of-earnings and diligence engagements: EBITDA normalization, working capital analysis, proof of cash, data room prep
- Design and document close processes, controls, and chart-of-accounts structures for new clients during onboarding
- Coordinate with clients' CPAs on year-end, 1099s, and tax packages
- Lead client status calls independently; escalate risks, scope creep, and judgment calls to the Principal
What we're looking for
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years as a controller, accounting manager, or senior in an outsourced/client accounting services (CAS) environment managing multiple entities
- Deep GAAP fluency: accruals, revenue recognition, inventory costing, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, and multi-entity consolidation
- E-commerce or consumer products experience — you understand Shopify payouts, marketplace fees, chargebacks, returns reserves, and inventory in transit
- Expert in QuickBooks Online; working knowledge of NetSuite, Xero, or similar; strong Excel/Google Sheets modeling
- Experience managing and reviewing the work of junior accountants
- Excellent written communication — you'll be explaining numbers to founders, not to other accountants
- Comfortable with ambiguity, imperfect data, and fixing messy books
- CPA (or CPA-eligible with active progress) preferred
Nice to have
- Transaction diligence / QoE exposure
- Experience with A2X, Settle, Ramp, Brex, Bill.com, Gusto, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central
- Supply chain finance exposure: PO management, landed cost modeling, freight, tariffs
- FP&A / three-statement modeling
Compensation and benefits
- $115,000 base salary
- Annual bonus
- Health insurance stipend
- Paid time off and federal holidays
Work arrangement
- Full-time W2 position, fully remote within the US
- Standard schedule Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern, with flexibility around client deadlines and month-end close
- Must currently reside in the US and be authorized to work without sponsorship, now or in the future
- We are currently unable to hire residents of: California, New York, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Massachusetts, Illinois, Hawaii, or Alaska
