About the role

This is an experienced bookkeeping role involving a range of bookkeeping activities, some of which can be complex and require sound accounting knowledge and problem-solving skills. You will need to be confident working independently, understanding how transactions flow through the accounting cycle, and using Xero across its full range of functionality. Xero certification would be highly regarded. While the role offers a high level of autonomy, you'll have the support of an experienced team around you. The role is work from home, but you'll be part of a team that is available to discuss issues, work through complex queries and provide support when needed.

Key responsibilities

Day-to-day bookkeeping and transaction processing

Bank reconciliations

Accounts payable and accounts receivable

GST preparation and filing

Payroll processing

Invoicing and payment processing

General ledger maintenance

Xero processing, administration and troubleshooting

Month-end reconciliations and accruals

Financial reporting and management reports

About you

At least 3 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping role

Xero experience – essential

A strong understanding of the accounting cycle

A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in

The ability to manage competing priorities and meet appropriate deadlines

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication and client service skills

The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your work

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work through more complex bookkeeping issues

A suitable home office setup and reliable internet
