Python Automation Dev – Gmail/Odyssey Court Filings to Dropbox (Gmail API + Dropbox API + Playwright

Lokasi klien: 🇺🇸 United States

Tentang pekerjaan

Looking for an experienced Python automation/API integration developer to build a reliable workflow that automatically files documents (download link is emailed) into the correct Dropbox case folder.

A link is emailed to Gmail notification.. The email contains a number, type/description, another number, and a link to download the document.

The document is currently downloaded manually, matched to a Dropbox case folder, numbered, renamed, and saved into the case's Pleadings folder.
The automation should detect qualifying emails, extract the information, locate the Dropbox case folder whose name begins with that number, locate its folder, determine the highest existing numbered in that subfolder, assign the next number, download the actual filed PDF, rename it, and upload it to Dropbox.
For example, if the highest existing number is the subfolder is:
31. Response.pdf
the next filing should become:
32.Pub.pdf
Historical gaps from a specific date should be filled. The system should always use the highest existing number + 1.

The system must also include duplicate prevention, safe handling of simultaneous filings, an audit log, retries, and an exception queue. If the numbered folder or subfolder cannot be confidently matched, the system must stop and flag the item for review rather than guessing.
The automation must never delete, move, overwrite, renumber, or reorganize existing Dropbox files.
Required experience: Python automation, Gmail API/OAuth, Dropbox API/OAuth, (possible) Playwright or equivalent browser automation, API integrations, logging/error handling, and reliable scheduled or webhook-based workflows.

Make.com or Zapier experience is helpful, may require custom code because of the
download process but i dont think so as i tired before and it worked.

To apply, please answer:
1. Describe a similar Gmail/API/document-routing automation you have built.
2. Have you used the Dropbox API to locate folders and upload/rename files?
3. Have you used Playwright for an authenticated file-download workflow?
4. How would you prevent two simultaneous filings from receiving the same sequential number?
5. How would you ensure retrying the same email does not create a duplicate?
6. What would you use for hosting, logging, and exception notifications?
7. Are you willing to start with a small paid proof-of-concept using one sample Tyler/Odyssey email and a test Dropbox folder?
We will provide sample emails and a test Dropbox structure after selection. Court/legal documents must be handled confidentially.
